SEMH Teaching Assistant
Are you a passionate and resilient Primary SEMH school Teaching Assistant who could support students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Responsibilities:
1. Providing 1:1 and small group support to students struggling with emotional regulation and behaviour.
2. Assisting with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and intervention plans.
3. Supporting students in lessons, ensuring positive engagement.
4. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to create a safe, inclusive learning space.
5. Helping students develop coping mechanisms and confidence in their abilities.
Skills:
1. Experience in SEMH, behaviour support, or pastoral roles within a school or youth setting.
2. A patient, calm, and understanding approach to working with young people.
3. The ability to build positive relationships.
4. Experience in youth work, psychology, mentoring, or sports coaching is desirable.
