Your primary focus is on delivering great food for our students in a Primary School Setting.
You will have overall management responsibility for the school catering operation, setting and driving standards and managing in line with agreed budgets and targets.
As Kitchen Manager, you will also take full responsibility for food production, ordering stock control, food safety and Natasha's Law. Staff training and development.
The key to the success of this role will be positive leadership of your team and building and maintaining positive relationships with your client and students.
The Role
1. To prepare delicious, high-quality food
2. To plan, operate and control the production and service of food related duties
3. To take responsibility for the standard of cleanliness and hygiene of premises and equipment and adherence of new nutritional guidelines
4. To order all food and other commodities required from designated suppliers
5. To operate and control stocks including stock records, ensuring correct completion and submission of all appropriate returns and records to the target dates identified
6. Take care to deliver outstanding catering services in and out of the kitchen
7. Keep to deadlines, with prompt service of meals
8. Work to a high standard of general hygiene, maintaining the cleanliness of the site
9. Uphold our health & safety values, always keeping a secure and safe environment
10. Act as part of the larger ISS team, working with other areas to create an exception experience for colleagues and customers
About You
11. Previous Kitchen Mangers experience essential
12. Advanced understanding of school catering and excellent food preparation and cooking skills
13. Demonstrate acceptable level of understanding of Health and Safety and accident prevention
14. Ability to demonstrate understanding profit and loss
15. Good communication skills
16. Excellent interpersonal, administrative and organisational skills
17. Good understanding of kitchen software / electronic ordering systems
18. Positive and proactive attitude
19. Ability to build strong enduring relationships with clients, customer and colleagues
