Job overview
We are looking for a skilful, upbeat individual to join our team on the Day Stay/Cath Lab.
You will receive support and training to achieve the necessary competencies in roles within the cath lab to assist the cardiologist or doctor for catheter lab procedures, admission and recovery of patients, and nurse-led pre-assessment clinics.
Your role will be to provide and maintain the highest possible standards of patient care, to develop and maintain good ward management and organisational skills, providing effective support for the ward manager and sister/charge nurse, ensuring self-development in the day-to-day management of the ward.
Under the supervision of the ward/department manager, you will work on delegated projects relating to local policy and service development and work towards an awareness of service delivery plans.
Main duties of the job
Your role will primarily require you to work as a skilled member of the angiography nursing team in all areas of the Day Stay/Cath Labs, working across the Directorate on an internal rotation according to the needs of the service delivery and to assist in the high provision of care to patients and families.
This will include the planning, assessment, implementation, and evaluation of patient care following agreed care pathways, developing and maintaining good unit management and organisational skills, and assisting with the provision of an environment conducive to the education of staff.
Duties also include cleaning, maintenance, and safe handling of equipment.
