Here are Serco, we are looking for a Mechanical Technician to join our team at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. This role will be responsible for providing safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical services and equipment within the hospital. The post holder will ensure that the Hospital Building, Fabric, Plant, Services and Equipment are maintained to a high standard by carrying out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing, commissioning, and maintenance to ensure continued efficiency, safety, and reliability.

The hospital has 1, beds and state-of-the art facilities and works closely with the University of East Anglia to train health professionals and have a strong focus on research.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
1. Carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
2. Ensuring work requests are managing and processed out of normal working hours.
3. Managing the work team out of normal working hours.
4. Take a proactive approach to the development and review of Health & Safety systems, work instructions and working practices.
5. Actively participate in the Computerised Labour Control System, including accurate and punctual completion of Work Order Documentation.
What you’ll need to do the role
To be considered for this role you will need to have completed a recognised appropriate Engineering Apprenticeship or other relevant structured Training Program, appropriate City & Guilds and/or BTEC certification. You will need proven experience of working in a similar environment and sound knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services. You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and great customer service skills.
