About The Role
Are you a multi-skilled problem solver who people can count on? If so, we’re looking for a co-worker like you!
We are looking for an Instrumentation Technician who will take on maintenance of various safety, control and measurement, and fire and gas systems. In addition to the installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, and repair of related instrument assets within the patch.
Working as part of our Operations Team, you will also work your way to the role of site controller to issue permission documents, formulate isolations, oversee and inspect work carried out by others whilst supporting the construction and commissioning of new assets.
This role will help protect and maintain the high-pressure systems in our compressor stations and above-ground installations. These stations are the engines that power long-distance gas pipelines across the National Transmission System.
Your primary location will be Kirriemuir Compressor Station, you will also be covering different sites across your local patch, so travel to various site locations is expected, as well as travel to training courses for competencies.
What we are looking for
We recognise we are a niche company, therefore don't worry if you do not meet 100% of the requirements because we know that there is a wealth of transferable skills out there such as experience with PLCs, RTUs, detection equipment, pressure gauges, and rotating machinery.
You will have previously completed an apprenticeship (or other recognised training scheme) and hold a BTEC National Certificate (or equivalent City & Guilds NVQ/SVQ Level 3) in an Instrumentation, Control Systems, or transferable discipline.
You will have worked or be working in industries including but not limited to Oil & Gas, Power, FMCG, the broader Utilities, Military, or Aviation.
We work in hazardous areas, so knowledge of health and safety is key. It would be desirable for you to have an in-date CompEx certificate; if not, it is something we could consider putting you through.
What we can offer you
* Annual bonus of 6% based on personal and company performance
* 26 days’ holiday plus statutory holidays - option available to buy extra or sell days
