As Financial Analyst - Finance PMO in our London office, you will play a key role in helping to create transparency and data-driven decision making into our technology investment portfolio. Reporting to the Financial Operations Manager on the Portfolio Management & Metrics team, which belongs to the Product & Technology Group, this new role will be a key part of our Technology Investment Governance process. Chiefly, this position will support the financial modeling of technology investment opportunities and inform the prioritization process for senior leadership through clear business cases.
You will be responsible for:
1. Strong Business Management background with continuous improvement and change mentality - Be technically conversant so that you can confidently collaborate with and align stakeholders and peers from Technology, Finance, Accounting and Product/Program Management teams across the organization.
2. Budgeting and expense management - collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners on coordinating and formulating annual and quarterly budgets, forecasts and manage/monitor expense management, reporting, and status. Monitor and account for Technology spend each month.
3. Partner with our key Product and Technology colleagues to simplify robust processes for the planning of budgets.
4. Financial modeling - generate financial models based on business case projections or historical performance with rigorous analysis (key ratios, breakeven, ROI, etc.).
5. Prepare reports and presentations - regularly prepare and generate reporting and presentations for portfolio reviews and ad hoc internal reviews.
6. Dashboard/MI maintenance and management - wrangle and retrieve large data sets for consolidation, illuminating standard reporting metrics within custom dashboards to promote transparency across all key stakeholders.
7. Participate in regular retroactive and value realization reviews - support the measurement and analysis of our performance on past projects (actuals vs. estimates).
8. Due diligence - answer questions arising from the review of historical financials while identifying gaps in provided performance and assumptive data sets.
9. Data visualization and storytelling - create compelling data visualizations that help transform data into insights.
10. Process development and approach - collaborate with other key stakeholders and develop standardized team processes to develop and define 'how we work.'
11. Continuous improvement - help us look for opportunities to improve our process and transform our approach into a discipline.
12. Analyze technology spend and resource allocation - proposed/projected and historical.
13. Offer input, guidance, and insights on key metrics and KPIs.
14. Research and analyze information and reporting as needed.
You should apply if you have:
1. Typically requires minimum of 2-4 years of experience working in a hands-on environment in financial analysis with advanced analytics tools.
2. Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (including modeling, advanced formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
3. Hands-on proficiency in one or more of the following business intelligence, visualization, and advanced analytics tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Data Robot, DataBricks, or other similar systems).
4. Critical, data-driven decision-maker who has strong analytical ability/fluency.
5. Excels in team environment with the ability to collaborate and liaise with geographically distributed teams.
6. Ability to articulate ideas to audiences with varied experience and levels throughout the organization.
7. Excellent written English and verbal communication skills, report writing and presentation skills.
8. Self-starter with 'can-do' attitude, a service mindset, and proactive in responding to requests.
9. Professional, detail-oriented, and organized, with outstanding follow-up abilities.
10. Enthusiastic, with a strong desire to succeed.
11. Strong business acumen and instincts.
12. Experience in financial services or technology firm a plus, but not required.
