About the Role
We seek a passionate Teacher of Maths with a KS3 responsibility to join our successful and collaborative Mathematics department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and challenge students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, helping them to achieve their full potential in this vital subject.
As outlined in the job and person specification, the successful candidate will:
1. Be responsible for securing strong progress for all students across Key Stage 3, with a focus on implementation and assessment.
2. Deliver engaging, high-quality mathematics lessons that cater to a range of abilities.
3. Contribute to the development of an ambitious and innovative mathematics curriculum.
4. Support students’ academic and personal growth through effective teaching and pastoral care.
5. Collaborate with colleagues in our mathematics department to share resources and best practices.
6. Oversee and coordinate Maths programmes within the school.
7. Co-ordinate ongoing support and mentoring of trainee teachers to ensure individual development areas are identified and supported.
8. Organise, co-ordinate and deliver professional development sessions tailored to the needs of trainee teachers.
9. Assess the performance of trainee teachers through formal and informal evaluations.
10. Develop and maintain teacher training resources and materials to support development.
11. Work closely with departments and the Executive Team to integrate trainee teachers effectively into the school community.
12. Maintain accurate records of trainee teacher progress and development.
13. Participate in the recruitment process for new trainee teachers.
14. Ensure all training activities comply with teaching standards, safeguarding regulations and school policies and protocols.
15. Provide pastoral care and support to trainee teachers, addressing personal and professional challenges.
16. Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for all trainees.
