SU have a collection of Muppets and enjoys doing shows for others. To be creative in regards to arts and crafts – one of the favourite activity for SU. To enjoy going for a walks to the park. To support a SU with complex needs and around their behaviour. Being able to notice the signs before behaviour escalates and to use distraction techniques as per SU Positive Behaviour Plan and their support plan. To participate in day to day support with individual. To support SU with day to day tasks. To maintain effective communication and liaison with service user, management and family and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality. To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events. To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required. To work as part of a team to provide high quality care. SU enjoys playing musical instruments so having some talent will be great. To support SU with singing and dancing as he likes when staff is participating in it. Personal Care support (bathing, showering; toileting) Support with community base activities (swimming, bowling, Zumba, gym, shopping, cycling, cinema etc.) Support around challenging behaviour, being aware of the triggers and being able to recall the signs before challenging behaviour escalates. Personal Characteristics: Being familiar or willing to learn about Muppets from Sesame Street. Having basic computer skills. SU likes to use his computer and to print arts and crafts materials. Willing to play on musical instruments together with the SU. Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one. Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, autism spectrum, epilepsy, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues. Awareness of Positive Behaviour Approach when dealing with individuals with challenging behaviour. The ability to keep calm under the pressure. The confidence to work with individuals with challenging behaviour. Excellent communication skills.
