For many years the school kitchen has rightly had an excellent reputation for producing high quality meals and a five star food hygiene rating. For the right person this will be an interesting, varied and rewarding position. There is a full job description however some of the main elements of the post are: • To work alongside the Kitchen Manager to provide healthy, tasty and nutritious meals for staff and pupils. • To ensure that the working environment meets, & preferably exceeds, all health and safety requirements • To contribute to the planning, producing and serving of high quality meals for pupils, staff and where appropriate visitors • To deputise for the Kitchen Manager in their absence Experience in working in a school kitchen or commercial setting would be an advantage This position is term time only with paid holidays taken in line with regular school holiday times. You will not be required to work during school holidays however you will receive an additional payment in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement. Salary is paid over the 12 months.
