This role is an exciting opportunity for a Principal Adults Solicitor to join Barnsley Council's legal services team on a permanent basis. You will take the lead on complex care matters and support the training and development of a busy and growing adults team.
The duties of the successful Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer role will include:
* Directly line managing 1 Senior Lawyer, 1 Adult Lawyer, and 1 Legal Assistant.
* Being a part of the Senior Management Team for the Legal Services.
* Assisting the team with complex adult social care cases.
* Dealing with case allocation for the team.
* Handling 1:1s and HR issues related to the team.
* Leading on improvement of the team with policies and procedures, looking at standard processes and reporting against performance indicators.

Experience required for the Principal Adult Social Care Lawyer role:
For this role, you must be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or Barrister. A good understanding of adult social care law is essential, though previous management experience isn't required.
