An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit an Emergency Department Receptionist to join the Emergency Care Directorate’s Administration Team at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.
We are looking for an experienced receptionist to work within our Emergency Department (ED). Working as part of the ED Team the post holder will be required to give efficient receptionist and administrative support to the clinical team within ED.
As a part of this very busy team, the successful applicant is expected to be very flexible, have a pleasant personality and a positive approach to their work. Applicants must also have a good standard of education, be adaptable and have good organisational skills. This individual will require excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with sensitive matters and highly confidential patient information.
Previous receptionist/administrative experience and knowledge of the Welsh Patient Administration System (WPAS) and Symphony is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Overtime is available.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post to a minimum of level 3.
Main duties of the job
To provide an efficient reception and administration service to the ED department whilst working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to actively ensure that an effective service is provided and patient satisfaction is maximised. Also to promptly and efficiently exercise own judgement to resolve patient queries within own professional constraints.
By the nature of the duties the post holder will be required to maintain strict confidentiality and will be expected to deal with staff, patients, carers and relatives with courtesy and discretion at all times.

Qualifications
* English and Mathematics to GCSE or equivalent experience
* NVQ level 3 Customer Care or equivalent qualification or experience OR AMSPAR Intermediate Diploma in Medical Reception
Experience
* Customer Service experience.
* Previous NHS experience

* Able to communicate information clearly and sensitively in person and over the phone
