Our client is seeking a Programmes Manager to lead and oversee a portfolio of key programmes for its Flagship Charity, the Institute for Industrial Chemistry as well as contribute to other company educational activities. About the role: Working as part of the Education team, the Programmes Manager has responsibility for the delivery of the Institutes programmes primarily with KS3-KS5. The role, reporting to the Head of Education, will be required to manage programmes and content to engage students in primary schools and secondary schools across the UK, building and managing internal and external stakeholder relationships. These programmes offer the opportunity to combine face-to-face and digital outreach. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop the implementation/delivery plan for existing and new programmes in line with the Institutes Education Strategy 2025 - 2030. Develop programme policies and procedures in line with the Institutes guidelines and Companys Operational Business Plan. Manage the programmes budget, ensuring accurate and detailed reporting of income and expenditure. Manage the work of volunteers, freelancers and interns contributing to the programmes, including training and recruitment cycles. Collaborate with the Communications Manager to develop Comms Plans that engage and build relevant, appropriate and engaging content for social media channels and our websites. Lead on the Festivals of Chemistry, Chemistry Club, Public Programmes and Choose Chemistry Residential and Ambassadors Programme. About you: Essential: Educated to degree level or equivalent in a science subject, ideally chemistry. Extensive operational programme management experience within the education or charitable sector. Evidence of delivering and or managing the delivery of events and complex project on time and on budget. Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and evaluating programmes. Knowledge of current educational landscape and or science education and outreach. Good knowledge of techniques for planning, managing, monitoring and evaluating programmes, including risk management, regular reporting, budget and resource allocation procedures. Experience of line-managing a team. Understanding of STEM and educational pathways at primary and secondary levels and knowledge of the development and delivery of education programmes. Strong communication skills, especially writing, editing and proofreading, with ability to write for, and make presentations to, a range of audiences. Strong analytical and data analysis skills. Self-motivated and proactive with a passion to work with, and for, young people to inspire and encourage learning. Ability to work independently when required and find innovative ways of solving and or anticipating problems. A flexible and adaptable approach to work. Proficiency in using MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and social media channels. Evidence of strategic thinking and business planning.
