A vacancy has arisen for a Roads Working Foreperson to join our team working on the Isle of Islay in Argyll and Bute, one of Scotland's most beautiful areas.
The Roads Working Foreperson will be expected to undertake structural and road maintenance works. Be able to understand and work unsupervised setting out and constructing all types of work to a satisfactory standard. Supervise and motivate a large multi-skilled group of employees. Ensure deadlines are adhered to when submitting paperwork. To take part in out of hours standby during summer/winter months to ensure roads are maintained in a safe condition. This is a permanent post, 37 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday.
It is essential that the successful applicant will hold an HGV licence and have experience in supervisory management or equivalent. They should also have leadership skills in a small team as well as being able to work on their own initiative.
