Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 1) - Full-Time

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 class at a primary school in Blackpool. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students with special educational needs (SEN) to help them access the curriculum and reach their full potential.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning experiences for all students, particularly those with SEN.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching strategies to meet individual needs.
- Help create an inclusive classroom environment where all children feel supported and engaged.
- Work closely with other staff members, including SENCOs, to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress.
- Support with personal care and mobility needs where necessary.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students to teachers and parents.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably within an SEN setting.
- A relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning or equivalent.
- A strong understanding of SEN and experience in adapting resources and strategies.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting young learners.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate well with both students and colleagues.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
