Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time (24 hours) Home Therapy Administrator to join the Renal Department at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will provide support to the Home Therapy Team within the department.
This is an excellent opportunity to join the busy and fast-paced Kendal Renal Unit, which provides patient care across Lancashire & South Cumbria, East Lancashire, Blackpool & Fylde, and surrounding areas. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, and adaptable individual who has an interest in improving patient experience.
You will possess excellent administrative skills and be a team player with a flexible approach to working.
We require a well-organised person to co-ordinate the changing requirements of home dialysis patients in respect of their dialysis prescriptions and consumables, as well as providing effective support and coordination of home dialysis and holiday dialysis.
You should ideally possess excellent communication skills and have experience of entering data. Good organisational and communication skills are essential.
The post supports the Home Therapy Manager, and therefore, administrative experience and a typing speed of 50wpm is desirable. Knowledge of a hospital working environment and medical terminology would be an advantage.
Main duties of the job
You will demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills by being the point of contact for day-to-day enquiries, referring where necessary to more senior staff.
Organising incoming and outgoing correspondence, dealing with routine telephone enquiries as appropriate, and referring to the appropriate person as necessary.
Coordinate and liaise with Clinical Colleagues and all other staff wherever necessary.

Qualifications & Education
* Good General Education to GCSE standard
* ECDL or equivalent experience
* Efficient in the use of Microsoft Word for Windows
* Experience of Excel, email, and internet
Knowledge & Experience
* Previous experience of working in a health care or related setting
* Knowledge of medical terminology
