The Morecambe Bay Respiratory Network in conjunction with the Community Respiratory Service, and a role aligned with the Community Respiratory Service until 31st March 2026. Further funding for us to continue these Respiratory services beyond April 2026, will be dependent on the success of this trial period have secured funding until April 2026, to trial a number of new services across Morecambe Bay, including (but not limited to) integrated MDT clinical pathways for chronic respiratory disease management, additional localised pulmonary rehabilitation programs, and specialist home rehabilitation and support, for people with respiratory disease living with high symptom burden who are at high risk of deterioration and urgent care use.

To work at the level outlined in the HEE Multi-professional Framework for Advanced Clinical Practice (2017) with equal focus on all four pillars of advanced clinical practice: Clinical, Leadership/management, education, and research/audit
Provide expert practice, exercising a high degree of specialist professional judgement supporting the patient journey.
To provide thorough, holistic assessments, clinical examination and co-ordination and delivery of specialist clinical care interventions to patients, to support themanagement ofrespiratory symptoms and chronic respiratory disease.
To work closely with the MBRN teams and wider MDT to improvethe management and early diagnosis ofrespiratory disease acrossMorecambe Bay.
To work closely with the MBRN support staffand other members of the ‘high risk’ serviceto measure, audit and evaluate theeffectiveness and impact of theservice,atthe patient and system level, engaging in a cycle of continuous service improvement.
To work closely with system partners to embed the delivery of CORE+20 and local population health agendas into these MBRN pathways and services
To provide clinical leadership,supervisionand training to the MBRN and wider MDT to support an overall improvement inChronic Respiratory Diseasemanagementacross Morecambe Bay.

UHMBT Integrated Community Serviceprovidescare outside of the hospital setting, including communitylocationsand people’s own homes.
UHMBT Hospital services operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
