Job Description
Key roles include:
1. Deputising in the Nursery Manager's absence and being a trusted key holder for the Nursery.
2. Managing the Learning and Development within the Nursery for staff and children to the highest quality and depth within your position.
3. Leading and guiding the setting in continuous development of practice, in order to provide the best opportunities for children to learn through play, utilising the outdoors as much as possible.
4. Assisting with building the reputation and booking levels of our Nursery setting.
5. Leading the team to ensure we provide secure and stimulating environments where children can develop emotionally, intellectually, morally, physically, and socially, at their own pace.
6. Being proactive in keeping up with legislation and practice development, in relation to Early Years, to support the professional development of our staff.
The post holder is responsible for supporting and facilitating effective quality services, which promote a tolerant and caring environment consistent with the EYFS. This role is dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, health questionnaire, and references.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
1. A confident individual committed to providing the best quality opportunities to children, young people, and the community.
2. An empathy for and enjoyment of working with children.
3. Working knowledge of effective safeguarding practice.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Level 3 or above relevant childcare qualification.
6. At least 2 years’ experience of working with children under the age of 5.
7. A willingness to engage in training and reflect on their own development.
8. Understanding that everyone is different and ensuring everyone who uses our services is respected and given the best experience.
9. Self-motivated, flexible, and solution-focused approach.
10. Ability to keep calm under pressure and in challenging situations.
11. Strong organisational and administration skills.
12. A belief in the value and importance of investing in the development of every individual in our teams.
13. Ability to provide support and guidance while promoting learning and respect.
14. High standard of written and verbal English and good IT competency.
