We are currently seeking a dedicated Group Financial Accountant on a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to join our finance team. In this role, you will support the Group Financial Controller in managing the financial reporting and analysis for the entire organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout.
Requirements
Cash forecasting and treasury:
* Lead the group cash forecasting process, including:
* Collecting, reviewing and challenging cash forecasts submitted by business unit Finance Managers.
* Consolidating all local cash forecast submissions to create the full group cash forecast.
* Analysing forecast variances against actuals and collaborating with Finance Managers to implement corrections.
* Partnering with local Finance Managers to improve cash forecasting assumptions.
* Ensure cash is available in the right place, at the right time, for key external payments (such as bank loan interest, payroll, and supplier payments).
* Drive continuous improvements in the accuracy and efficiency of the cash forecasting and treasury processes.
Monthly accounting and reporting:
* Responsibility for the ledgers and monthly reporting for all UK non-trading entities, using the NetSuite accounting system.
* Prepare monthly analysis of results and position compared to prior months and budget / forecasts for the UK non-trading entities.
* Perform monthly bank reconciliations and maintain reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts, such as prepayments, accruals, and trade creditors.
* Maintain reconciliations for all external and owner debt, as well as providing forecasts of expected movements.
* Manage the monthly intercompany reconciliation process, maintain intercompany loan documentation, and calculate intercompany interest.
Year-end:
* Act as a key contact for the group auditors, providing schedules and answering any queries.
* Compile tax packs for UK tax advisors and work collaboratively to finalise tax positions for the UK non-trading entities.
Also:
Provide ad hoc support to the Group Financial Controller and wider finance team on various tasks as required.
The ideal candidate will possess:
* Previous experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within a group accounting environment
* Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information
* Proficient in accounting software (Netsuite) and advanced Excel skills
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work with various stakeholders
* Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Familiarity with IFRS, FX translations, and group consolidations is highly desirable
