Job Title: Project Manager (Electrical Bias)

An industry-leading multidisciplinary design and build contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager with an Electrical bias. With over 100 years of industry expertise, this company supports a range of blue-chip clients across sectors including Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, and Food & Beverage. Known for their innovative engineering solutions, the company promotes a culture focused on personal development and safety.
Based primarily at the Warrington office, this role will also involve travel to client sites where live project works are ongoing. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of projects ranging in value from £250K to £15m, overseeing everything from scoping and detailed designs to installation and migration of electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects, ensuring commercial and technical objectives are met.
• Manage all aspects of project delivery, including project scheduling, risk management, cost forecasting, and change management.
• Regularly communicate with internal teams (design, engineering, manufacturing) and clients to ensure alignment on project progress and deliverables.
• Maintain accurate cost-to-complete forecasts and monitor commercial performance, highlighting potential risks to stakeholders.
• Ensure adherence to contract requirements and communicate early warnings, variations, and compensation events effectively.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
• Strong project management experience, ideally within Electrical or MEICA projects.
• Solid understanding of electrical installations and control systems, such as control panels, MCCs, PLC, and SCADA.
• Proven ability to manage NEC3 or NEC4 contracts.
• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to monitor project performance and manage change effectively.
• Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project.
• Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
• Previous experience managing electrical installation projects within the Water Industry.
• Knowledge of contract administration and tools like CEMAR.
• Project management certification (APM or Prince 2) preferred.
