Our client is seeking a highly skilled IT Category Manager to join their dynamic procurement function. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive the procurement strategy across the IT function, working with colleagues across procurement and the wider business. The successful candidate will be instrumental in establishing needs and finding the most cost-effective solutions, thereby contributing to the re-investment of savings into local communities. This role also involves building relationships with current and future external partners and using commercial tools to deliver big projects.
What you'll do:
1. Drive procurement strategy across IT function
2. Contribute to re-investment of savings into local communities
3. Build relationships with external partners
4. Run supplier governance processes with key suppliers supporting the programme
5. Develop a strong understanding of associated software licensing models
6. Offer advice and challenge on costs and budgets
7. Drive innovation through leveraging knowledge of the IT and digital markets
8. Build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels, acting as a procurement business partner
9. Monitor and minimise risk through proactive contract management, working closely with legal teams to ensure contracts are effective
What you bring:
1. Proven category management experience with IT systems implementations and software negotiations
2. Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyse and interpret data
3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and partners
4. Experience in complex negotiation and sound commercial thinking ability
