Job Overview
We require enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to play an important role dedicated to ensuring excellent standards of care to our patients on our Gastroenterology Ward. Working within a team of highly skilled and motivated staff where patient focus is our priority. We strive to make patient, family and carer experience as good as possible.
Health Care Support Workers play a vital role in line with nurses to deliver excellent care to our patients with broad and varied health conditions. The job is both exciting and challenging where team working is essential, and initiative is paramount. Excellent communication, confidence, and compassion are essential.
Main Duties of the Job
Your main role as Health Care Support Worker is to support other staff and the patients in your care. You must uphold dignity, care, and compassion with every patient you meet and look after.
Your duties will include assisting patients with all hygiene needs, assisting with mobility, and ensuring all patients' nutritional needs are met.
You will work within the team on G2 to deliver high-quality patient care following NCA policies and core values.
Excellent communication skills are essential to ensure our patients' needs are met and to maintain safety for patients at all times.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Care Certificate either upon appointment or within 12 weeks of commencement
* Level 1 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE English and Maths Grade D-G)
* NVQ Level 2 in Healthcare or a Level 2 Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Experience of working with members of the public or a desire to work in the Health Service
* Understanding of routine work procedures gained through a short induction period and on-the-job training
* Experience of working within a health or social care environment
* Experience of working within a team
Skills & Abilities
* Basic IT skills
* Good organisational skills
* Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD)
