Direct Medics are working in partnership with an NHS Trust in the Midlands to recruit a Children and Young People Crisis Mental Health Practitioner, based in Telford. This is a community role, 1 day per week, 8am – 8pm.
Role Overview
This Band 6 Practitioner role involves assessing and managing mental health crises in children and young people, providing safe and effective home treatment aligned with their recovery plans. The practitioner will conduct mental health and risk assessments, deliver interventions, and support positive outcomes for young people, particularly those with coexisting physical health conditions. Working closely with families, they aim to help young people engage in everyday life. The role also includes contributing to service goals, maintaining high standards of care, monitoring effectiveness, and supporting the development of junior staff.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Mental Health Nursing or Social Work
2. Professional registration with NMC or Social Work England
3. Post-qualification continuous professional development (CPD) relevant to the profession
4. Experience working with children & young people experiencing mental health difficulties
5. Experience in assessing, planning, co-ordinating, and managing people with mental health issues in a community setting
6. Right to live and work in the UK
