What we are looking for We are currently seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team, based at the racecourse in Ascot, Berkshire. What you’ll be doing Working as part of a team of five, you will carry out general building maintenance, such as carpentry and joinery, bricklaying, concreting, plastering, roof repairs and general construction work. • To carry out general repairs to the premises. • To carry out stock control, account for goods and materials held is stock for future use and keeping the Maintenance Team Leader informed of any materials requiring ordering. • To manufacture and install carpentry and joinery items. • To undertake bricklaying, concreting, plastering and roof repairs and other similar maintenance work. • To carry out raceday duties as required. • Such other duties as the Company may, at times, reasonably require. Skills and experience you can bring • Ideally hold a City & Guilds in carpentry, or a similar trade qualification. • Ideally hold a City & Guilds in bricklaying, or a similar trade qualification. • Significant knowledge and experience of buildings maintenance and construction. • Be able to work at times with little or no supervision and have the ability to work under pressure. • Professional appearance. • Proactive and flexible attitude and a strong team player. • Be able to lift heavy items, using equipment provided where needed. • Hold a current, valid Driving Licence.
