Kirkcolm and Leswalt Primary School Partnership
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a challenge and wishing to gain experience in a management role and be part of the management team of an established school partnership. This post is covering a maternity leave for up to a period of one year. You will be required to work 28 hours per week split between both schools (0.4 FTE at Kirkcolm PS and 0.4 FTE at Leswalt PS).
As a Principal Teacher, you will work as part of a team under the direction of the Head Teacher and have responsibility for areas of school management. You will implement and take forward curriculum development and improvement within your school and as part of the PT team within the partnership.
This position may be suitable for a Secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post on a secondment basis.
Applicants for teaching posts must be registered with the General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS), Clerwood House, 96 Clermiston Road, Edinburgh, EH12 6UT in the appropriate sector.
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.
Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident.
