Job Description:
Lecturer in Business Psychology - Leeds
ROLE PURPOSE:
You will be responsible for performing a range of tutoring, lecturing, administration, professional duties, and other related activities to deliver a high-quality educational experience to our students. As a lecturer, you are expected to engage students in the learning process to ensure student outcomes are maximized. You shall also contribute to the development of various subjects across the curriculum and support quality assurance processes for the programmes you teach.
Please note this role is fully on-site, including teaching and marking, as we operate an on-site working model. We are seeking both full-time permanent and hourly paid Lecturers.
Main Responsibilities
ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Design, plan, and deliver lectures, tutorials, and other teaching and learning activities as required by the Faculty.
* Design assessments and evaluate student work to meet learning outcomes.
* Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.
* Offer academic support and guidance to students as needed.
* Develop, update, and improve course materials.
* Stay updated with best practices in teaching and learning, integrating technologies to enhance the learning experience.
* Contribute to the design, development, and review of programmes within the Faculty and GBS.
* Attend meetings and develop productive relationships within various teams.
* Participate in internal and external events like programme reviews, open days, outreach activities, and partner visits.
* Engage in staff development activities, including teaching observations and workshops.
* Support and disseminate new knowledge in your field and higher education practice.
* Participate in GBS performance management, focusing on student outcomes, satisfaction, retention, and attendance.
* Act as a Module Leader or undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Dean.
* Perform other responsibilities to support GBS, including acting in senior capacities for professional development.
Requirements
Essential Skills, Experience, and Attributes
* Hold a Master’s degree (preferably in Business Psychology) and a doctoral qualification or demonstrate equivalent professional success.
* Passion for education as a transformative activity.
* Experience and enthusiasm for working in widening access environments.
* Experience of teaching in higher education.
* Experience supervising student work and providing feedback.
* Experience with distance learning, supporting learners both face-to-face and remotely.
* Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter.
* Attention to detail and accurate reporting skills.
* Ability to maintain thorough student records.
* Ability to work under pressure, plan, and prioritize tasks.
* Highly motivated with minimal supervision.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work with diverse groups.
* Industry experience in Business Psychology.
