Job Summary
We are delighted to be assisting a key strategic partner with the recruitment of a new COO for a leading professional services company based in Belfast. Our client, a respected organisation with a UK-wide presence, is entering an exciting phase of growth and transformation. They are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Operating Officer to drive operational excellence and lead the company through its next stage of development.
Key Responsibilities:
As COO, you will be responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that all business functions run smoothly and efficiently. You will play a key role in implementing the company’s strategy, enhancing operational processes, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery. Key responsibilities include:
* Operational Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to all operational functions, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall vision and business objectives.
* Process Optimisation: Identify and implement operational improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service delivery across the organisation.
* Client Service Excellence: Drive a culture of high-quality service delivery, ensuring that client expectations are met and exceeded across all professional services lines.
* Strategic Planning & Execution: Work closely with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute the company’s strategic plan, translating business goals into actionable operational plans.
* Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure that all operations adhere to regulatory and legal requirements, managing risks effectively and maintaining a strong compliance framework.
* Technology & Innovation: Oversee the implementation of new technologies and systems that enhance operational effectiveness, while staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.
* Financial Performance: Monitor and manage the company’s operational budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while delivering on service excellence.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior management, the board of directors, and key stakeholders to ensure operational objectives align with broader business goals.
* Talent Management & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing operations team, ensuring that all employees are supported, developed, and empowered to deliver their best work.
* Change Management: Lead transformation initiatives, managing organisational change effectively to support business growth and drive continuous improvement.
Key Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role, ideally as COO or Operations Director within the professional services sector.
* Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution.
* Extensive experience in operational process improvement, efficiency optimisation, and service delivery excellence.
* A track record of implementing innovative solutions, particularly through technology, to enhance business operations.
* Knowledge of risk management, governance, and compliance frameworks, with experience in ensuring regulatory adherence across operations.
* Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and lead teams across multiple functions and locations.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* A results-oriented mindset, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver against operational targets.
* Experience in leading change and transformation within an organisation, with a focus on continuous improvement.
* A background in professional services, consultancy, or a similar client-focused industry would be highly advantageous.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £100,000.00 per year
