Role: Catering Assistant Location: Reaside Hours: 27.50 hours over 7 days Role Purpose: To assist in providing a high-quality food service to patients, staff and visitor Main duties of the job Principle Duties and Responsibilities Catering Responsible for performing general catering duties i.e. service of food, cleaning of premises and equipment, preparation of snacks, salads, sandwiches, vegetable prep and beverages. Responsible for utilising safely mechanical and electrical equipment including operating wash-up machine/floor cleaning machine following appropriate training as required. To check meal order sheets that have been submitted to ensure correct food is served as per the request. Have knowledge of allergens within food service. To assist in the introduction of new staff under the guidance and advice of the Catering Shift leader/Supervisor. Responsible in providing food service to patients, staff and visitors. Stock Responsible for the receipt and storage of goods in accordance with the departmental HACCP procedure. On occasions responsible for the opening and closing of the main kitchen along with assisting senior chef with cooking duties.
