As the UK Fleet Manager for JCDecaux UK, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and leading the management of our national fleet operations. You will collaborate with internal teams, including drivers, senior managers, and regional teams, to ensure the fleet is utilised efficiently, vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and operations run smoothly. You will also ensure alignment with company objectives, regulatory compliance and industry standards, maintaining our commitment to exceptional service and safety. In addition, you will manage the monthly and annual Fleet Operations budgets, working in partnership with the UK Finance team to deliver financial insights and manage expenditure effectively. What you'll be doing Ensure fleet availability to meet operational needs across JCDecaux UK, ensuring no disruption to business operations. Oversee all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, ensuring that any issues are swiftly addressed to maintain operational efficiency. Implement and maintain best practice standards for vehicle maintenance, advocating for continuous improvements and operational excellence across the fleet. Collaborate closely with senior managers, providing technical fleet support and identifying opportunities for cost-saving and operational enhancements. Generate and submit monthly fuel expenditure reports, collaborating with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and transparency. Own and maintain the fleet data management system, ensuring all data is current and accurate. Oversee the fleet fuel card system, optimising fuel purchases and monitoring usage across all vehicles. Lead the budgeting process for Fleet Operations, ensuring all financial objectives are met, including the planning and management of vehicle leasing, purchases, and replacements. Work with the Finance team to explore financing models and strategies that deliver optimal value for the fleet. Manage whole-life cost analysis for fleet assets, ensuring the lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the business. Maintain accurate databases for vehicle registrations, inspections, and maintenance schedules. Ensure fleet operations comply with all DVLA (and other bodies) regulations, including documentation and certification requirements for vehicles and drivers. Oversee the implementation of fleet safety measures: Ensure all vehicles are equipped with required safety features to comply with the latest safety and environmental regulations. Keep up-to-date with regulatory changes: Stay informed on updates or changes to DVLA, TfL, and other relevant regulat ory bodies, ensuring fleet is always operating within the legal framework. Prepare for regulatory audits and inspections: Coordinate the preparation of documentation and data for all audits including: DVLA, TfL, FORS, ISO, H&S ensuring timely responses to regulatory inquiries and requests. Act as the primary point of contact for compliance, audits, and governance activities, including Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and financial auditing. Partner with the Health, Safety, and Environmental teams to uphold the highest standards in safety and environmental performance, driving ESG targets. Stay abreast of industry trends, using fleet data to forecast future needs and identify new vehicle requirements. Manage supplier relationships with leasing companies and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), ensuring consistent quality and performance. Coordinate fleet operations for special events, ensuring all logistics are carefully planned and executed. Participate in relevant industry workshops and training programs, ensuring up-to-date knowledge on fleet management trends, regulations, and best practices. Identify and implement corrective actions to improve fleet performance and capacity. Ensure effective communication across internal and external stakeholders, guaranteeing that fleet operations are executed in the most cost-efficient way with a focus on service excellence. Operational Expertise : Proficient in fleet and vehicle management, with a keen understanding of industry standards, fleet legislation, and safety regulations. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within an operations or fleet management environment. Experience in managing large-scale fleet operations and/or partnerships with external suppliers. Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to analyse data and present findings. In-depth knowledge of fleet management systems and software. Strong understanding of fleet legislation, compliance requirements, and industry best practices. A valid UK driving licence is essential. Desirable Qualifications Fleet Management qualification (e.g., ICFM or similar) is advantageous.
