We're looking for a Collections and House Manager to join the Hinton portfolio.
You'll support the Collections & House team to deliver outstanding conservation, presentation, and compliance standards across the portfolio.
You'll ensure our indoor visitor offer continues to grow in relevance and accessibility for existing and new audiences, championing inclusive service and interpretation.
You’ll plan and deliver high-quality collections care and management to improve opportunities for visitor engagement, leading the way for collections and interiors programming. Leading by example you’ll provide a culture of excellent customer care, engaging our visitors with conservation and our values.
This is a fixed term contract due to end when the previous employee returns from maternity leave. At this point we cannot confirm exactly how long this contract will last, but it is unlikely to be more than 12 months.

You’ll be part of the Senior Leadership Team, part of key decision making that affects every part of the portfolio. You’ll help to engage our teams with change and pushing to improve how we care for our places and experiences for people.
What you'll be doing
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll work in partnership with your peers across the leadership team to ensure operational efficiency, championing conservation and cultural heritage and working flexibly with other departments to achieve shared goals.
You'll manage the Senior Collections & House Officer, supporting them to deliver conservation projects, collections care and the daily opening of the house at Hinton Ampner, making sure appropriate resources are in place to provide a consistent and excellent visitor experience.
You'll also have overall responsibility for a team of volunteers, developing their skills and providing an indoor volunteering offer that is as flexible and inclusive as possible.
Who we're looking for
We'd love to hear from people with the following:
* A proven ability to deliver high presentation standards, customer care, compliance, and collections management in a historic setting
* An awareness of current developments and approved practices in the heritage sector around visitor engagement, innovation and access
* A passion for promoting inclusivity and diversity in the interpretation and presentation of history
* An ability to show resilience and positivity while delivering change and managing internal customers
* An ability to build effective and collaborative working relationships
* Successful experience of people management and delivering through others
