This opportunity is for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Schools’ Choice HR, Payroll and Pensions team in Ipswich. You will work closely with the management team to ensure successful operation of service delivery and responsible for delivering a high level of payroll bureau standards to our customers.
Main Activities and Responsibilities:
* To operate a portfolio of customers monthly education payrolls.
* To work closely with the team to ensure the successful completion of all customers payrolls.
* To effectively work with and support team members, sharing payroll knowledge and experience in the processing of monthly payrolls and pension schemes.
* To support with running full end to end payroll process ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice methods are used.
* Liaise with third parties as necessary, such as HMRC, Court Orders etc.
* Investigate and resolve complex and technical pay related queries.
* Work closely with the finance team to ensure costings are correct and BACs submissions are made on time to the agreed deadlines.
* Ensure HMRC and other third-party deadlines are adhered to and responsible for monthly and annual submissions.
* Assist to ensure the pension schemes are processed and compliant with pension submission deadlines.
* Manipulate and interpret data to provide customised information to customers.
Skills and Experience:
* Be passionate in providing a great customer experience.
* Be a practical problem solver.
* Experience of managing multiple payrolls with different pay dates ideally.
* Have some understanding of pension schemes and the ability to process different types of pension schemes, such as LGPS, Salary Sacrifice, etc.
* Ability to prioritise workload and self-manage multiple deadlines.
* Some experience working knowledge of payroll systems.
* Effective communication at all levels, both written and verbal.
Experience in education payroll and working on iTrent is a plus, however not essential.
