Compensation: $60,000 – $75,000 commensurate with experience with medical, dental, vision, paid time off, paid holidays, 403b retirement plan, short and long-term disability.
Rock to the Future supports positive youth development and economic empowerment through free, student-driven music programs for Philadelphia youth in under-resourced areas. We are hiring a Program Director as our long-standing Program Director is moving from the area in 2024. The Program Director is an exempt position with a schedule that aligns with out-of-school time programming that ends at 6pm each day, and has occasional evening and weekend events. Administrative responsibilities are generally able to be completed remotely, and in-person presence at program locations throughout Philadelphia is frequently required.
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing Rock to the Future’s in-school, out-of-school, and justice programs which serve 1,100+ children and teens annually. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer, works closely with the Chief Music Officer, Resource Development team, and Operations team, manages (2) Site Directors, our Youth Engagement Specialist, and lead MobileMusic and MusiCommunity program instructors, and acts as a primary contact for certain program partners. They will motivate and lead a team of passionate individuals to bring the joy and benefits of music to talented youth throughout Philadelphia!
Responsibilities
* Oversee and support planning, development, implementation, compliance, enrollment, and evaluation of Rock to the Future’s programs (MusiCore, MusiCommunity, MobileMusic and Justice Programs).
* Create and review policies and systems to improve program effectiveness and efficiency.
* Develop and manage annual program budgets.
* Act as primary point of contact for program partners including Office of Children and Families, Public Health Management Corporation, School District of Philadelphia Office of Strategic Partnerships, and others.
* Ensure programs have adequate resources and team members are trained.
* Oversee Trax software database system for student enrollment and evaluation needs.
* Cultivate strategic relationships with community partners that can further our mission.
* Provide needed data requirements to the Resource Development team for reporting and communication needs.
* Work closely with the Chief Music Officer and Marketing Coordinator to ensure marketing and communication needs are met.
* Attend program locations to ensure goals are met, which may be located in various locations throughout Philadelphia.
* Attend events to support strategic and program goals, which may be in the evenings and on the weekends.
* Attend all student performances and key organization events, which may be in the evenings and on the weekends.
Required Skills
* 3-7 years experience directing youth programs in under-resourced areas.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience with G Suite (Google Drive, Sheets, Docs, Slides).
* Experience with student enrollment database.
* Experience with data management and evaluation.
* Experience with management.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong project management skills and experience with a project management software (Asana).
* Experience with trauma-informed approaches, restorative practices, student-driven, and other asset-based youth development strategies.
* Values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
* A resident of Philadelphia County.
* Preferred but not required: Spanish-speaking, musical background.
