Job Description
Defour Partnership is working closely with a National Social Care Charity recruiting for a Quality & Excellence Specialist – Part Time Hours.
We are seeking an experienced and confident social care professional to join the Quality team covering the North West region on a part-time, 18-hour contract basis. The role may be based in Penrith, Carlisle, Barrow-in-Furness, or surrounding areas.
What is The Deal for you?
1. Flexibility: Work 18 hours over 3-5 days. You need to be available to visit services around Cumbria and attend meetings at the Head office in Widnes when required. Other locations across the North West may also be involved. Otherwise, you can work from home.
2. Salary: Up to £16.92 per hour including a car allowance.

Day to Day
As a Quality and Excellence Specialist, you will collaborate with the Quality Team to support operational colleagues across various local authorities within your scope.
You will play a vital role in elevating care standards and fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with external standards, research, and best practices. Promoting person-centred care, respecting human rights, and embedding equal citizenship are core principles of this role.
You will conduct critical reviews of care and support delivery, perform benchmarking, and validate management assessments. Additionally, you will be involved in audit activities, action planning, and follow-up to ensure quality improvements are implemented effectively.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have experience managing a care or support-related service, familiarity with regulated activity inspections, and a proven track record of delivering person-centred outcomes and personalized support.
Due to the role's requirements, a full UK driving license is essential, along with flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overnight stays as needed.
