Our Client is an exciting and growing European LNG Trading business situated in the heart of London. Due to growth, they are looking to add a Financial Accountant to the team. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to grow and develop along with mentoring a more junior member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Month-End Management:
o Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Conduct monthly reconciliations to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
o Profit and Loss (PnL) Review: Analyse PnL statements.
2. Preparation Of Financial Accounts:
o Prepare and present accurate financial accounts in compliance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements.
3. Audit Management:
o Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance and accuracy of financial data.
4. Invoicing:
o Oversee the invoicing processes, ensuring the timely and accurate generation of invoices to maintain efficient cash flow and collections.
5. Tax Compliance:
o Ensure strict adherence to tax regulations, including the preparation and submission of Corporation Tax and VAT returns, ensuring accurate reporting and timely submissions.
6. Transfer Pricing:
o Manage compliance with transfer pricing regulations, ensuring proper documentation and timely preparation of reports in line with local tax laws.
Skills And Qualifications
1. Professional Accounting Qualification: Completion of a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is essential.
2. Tax Qualification (Desirable): A professional tax qualification such as CTA or ATT is highly desirable.
3. Advanced Excel Skills: Proficient in advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables) and VBA for data manipulation, financial analysis, and reporting.
4. ETRM System Experience: Experience using an ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) system, ideally EOS.
5. IFRS Knowledge: Proven experience in preparing financial reports in compliance with IFRS standards, with in-depth knowledge of IAS 2, IFRS 9, and IFRS 16.
6. Tax Compliance Experience: Experience in preparing UK Corporation Tax Returns, VAT Returns, and UK Local Transfer Pricing Files.
7. Industry Experience: Demonstrated experience working in the commodity trading sector, preferably with Oil Majors or Commodity Trading Firms, and a solid understanding of the financial operations in the LNG trading business.
