This is an exciting opportunity for a suitable candidate to apply for a specialised cytopathology consultant position at Liverpool Clinical Laboratories (LCL), which is part of Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust.
The specialist teams at LCL are well established and successful tertiary referral centres with regional and national repute. The cellular pathology service is the specialist laboratory hubs of the Cheshire and Merseyside cellular pathology network, is the main training centre for cellular pathology trainees and has strong academic links with University of Liverpool. The service has recently moved to purpose built new laboratory facilities on site at the Royal Liverpool Hospital and full roll out of digital pathology makes this the perfect time to be joining our dynamic and expanding department.
The appointees will have a significant commitment to the Cytopathology specialist team, where close collaboration exists between clinicians and pathologists. Both established pathologists and newly qualified trainees are encouraged to apply if they are looking to develop their careers by joining respected and experienced teams and subspecialising in a friendly and stimulating environment.
Applicants seeking full time (10 PAs) or less than full time are encouraged to apply. Flexible and home working is supported by teams.
The successful applicant will be involved in the whole range of diagnostic work for the respective subspecialty and will also have an opportunity to contribute to teaching and training of junior medical staff and biomedical scientists. The cytopathology service supports a number of patient facing clinics across multiple hospital sites.
