The Marketing Officer will lead Firefly Arts' youth-driven marketing strategy, supporting young people in co-creating content, managing campaigns, and amplifying their voices.
Firefly Arts is one of Scotland's leading youth arts organisations. We empower young people to express themselves, develop confidence, and build valuable creative skills through drama, film, and arts projects. We are looking for a Marketing Officer to lead our marketing and communications, ensuring young people are at the heart of our public presence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Social Media & Digital Presence:
Develop and schedule engaging content across Firefly Arts' social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) to maintain a dynamic and consistent online presence.
Manage social media activity, ensuring content resonates with our community, and that our platforms reflect the voices of the young people we serve.
Encourage and empower young people to take an active role in managing social media platforms, guiding them in creating content that engages their peers and highlights their creative work.
2. Content Creation & Design:
Co-create marketing materials with young people, including posters, flyers, and promotional graphics using tools like Canva or similar design platforms.
Work collaboratively with young people to implement a marketing strategy that integrates their ideas and reflects their unique perspectives.
Produce high-quality video and visual content that showcases the impact of Firefly’s activities, performances, and projects.
Facilitate workshops and training sessions to equip young participants with the skills and knowledge needed in digital marketing and content creation.
Oversee the development of a dedicated section on Firefly’s website to highlight the key achievements of the ARC project over the past three years.
3. Newsletters & Communications:
Develop and send out monthly newsletters via Mailchimp, keeping our audiences informed about Firefly’s work, upcoming opportunities, and events.
Research and share opportunities relevant to young people, artists, and the wider community, including workshops, funding, and residency opportunities.
4. Event Promotion:
Co-design promotional materials with young people for Firefly’s events, workshops, and performances, leveraging platforms like Eventbrite, social media, and other digital tools.
Contract: Freelance contract for three years, 7 days per month
Location: Flexible, with weekly presence required at Firefly Arts’ office in West Lothian
Fee: A fixed fee of £14,000 for the first year with an annual review (paid in 12 monthly instalments)
