Accountable for delivering MEP services on projects to meet outcomes related to time, budget, safety, and quality. Lead the delivery of high-quality, efficient, and profitable projects, providing leadership and ensuring compliance, governance, and team management. Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
You'll be responsible for:
* Driving the MEP team with professional and respectful behaviors, providing clear guidance and encouraging compliance with Mace standards.
* Ensuring successful delivery of MEP services, including managing the programme, health and safety, quality, and commissioning.
* Partnering with key stakeholders, including clients, consultants, trade contractors, and team leaders.
* Leading tendering processes and providing technical and commercial support to bid teams.
* Identifying and agreeing on resource needs, contributing to procurement strategies, and overseeing specialist packages.
* Reviewing contracts and scopes, assisting in budget and schedule preparation, and supporting commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle.
* Reviewing design information for compliance and coordination, including energy and embodied carbon considerations.
* Developing and implementing project delivery strategies, ensuring milestones and dependencies are managed.
* Using digital tools for productivity assessments, identifying risks, and ensuring project completion standards.
* Proactively managing risks and producing mitigation plans.
* Driving continuous improvement and sharing lessons learned.
* Managing and influencing senior stakeholders, including up to C-suite level.
* Managing large teams, promoting positive behaviors, and supporting performance and career development.
* Contributing to the goal of net zero carbon, managing related emissions and reductions during project delivery.
You'll need to have:
* Advanced knowledge of engineering systems, standards, installation, prefabrication, and commissioning.
* Deep understanding of construction sequencing, dependencies, and project management from tender to completion.
* Strong commercial management skills, including procurement, change control, risk, and forecasting.
* Knowledge of health, safety, and welfare standards across construction activities.
* Experience delivering projects valued over £25m in MEP.
* Relevant engineering qualifications and professional memberships.
* Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Trade or technical apprenticeship, graduate development, or equivalent training.
* Certifications such as SMSTS and CSCS.
You'll also have:
* Project experience across diverse sectors and technical backgrounds.
* A relevant degree or vocational qualification.
* Accreditation with professional bodies like CIBSE, IET, IMechE, or SoPHE.
