About Us:
Nurtured Childcare are an award-winning nursery group, where children really are at the centre of what we do and we like to think outside of the box to bring new and exciting activities to our nurseries. There is another part to the business that this role will also support, LSC. LSC are the largest provider in the UK for PPA cover in primary schools. Both companies are going through a period of growth, so there are a lot of exciting things in the pipeline.
Role Overview:
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. You will ensure that all transactions are processed accurately, ledgers are balanced, and provide valuable financial insights to our management team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Financial Planning and Analysis: Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost management to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
* Reporting and Compliance: Produce monthly management accounts and ensure timely completion of PAYE/VAT returns.
* Financial Control and Procedures: Develop and implement financial controls and assist with financial systems transitions.
* Cash Management: Plan and manage cash flow to ensure liquidity.
* Operational Support: Handle invoicing, accounts receivable, payroll, and follow-up on overdue accounts.
* Strategic Decision Making: Provide financial insights and monitor performance to support senior management.
* Intercompany Transactions: Manage intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
What we're looking for:
Qualifications:
* Essential: CIMA ACCA Qualified (or qualified by experience), ledger experience, balance sheet reconciliations, experience with Xero Accounting.
* Desirable: Experience in cash management, PAYE process payments, payroll management with external providers.
Experience and Knowledge:
* Essential: Proficiency in handling ledgers, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, tax knowledge, familiarity with accounting software, proficiency in Microsoft Office, experience in producing management accounts, involvement in developing financial controls, budgeting and forecasting, invoicing and accounts receivable, payroll, month-end processes, cash flow control, team working, attention to detail, process improvement.
* Desirable: Experience working with schools or nurseries, full payroll experience, experience of cash flow management.
