In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
The purpose of this role is to work within the Flammability Certification team of the Safran Seats
Engineering Department, delivering the Flammability test specimens for new
and existing products as they are developed at Safran Seats Facilities.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the fabrication of test specimens in support of the required
flammability tests relating to specific products / platforms within Safran Seats.
Responsible for the coordination of test specimen preparation, specimen storage,
inspection and dispatch with other functions of the business (e.g. purchasing,
quality, logistics etc).
Responsible for the upkeep of materials stored in the flammability test lab with full
conformity traceability.
To support the Flammability Certification Engineers, Senior Flammablity
Certificaiton Engineers and Lead Flammability Certification Engineer to plan and
successfully execute the flammability certification activities at SGB.
Receive and review flammability test sample sheets/requests and ensure the
definition of flammability test specimen and associated materials are adequate.
Evaluate the necessary materials and quantities required to fabricate required test
specimens.
In coordination with the certification engineer, establish whether a FOC sales
order form or manual order form is required to source testing materials.
Generate necessary internal requisition forms (manual order forms or free of
charge sales order form) to obtain the necessary materials.
Coordinate with the dispatch team or supply chain team to retrieve necessary
materials, whilst ensuring material conformity paperwork for received materials is
accurate.
Store and control materials received in the flammability workshop and maintain
inventory and traceability (conformity certificates) of all materials available for
flammability test specimens' fabrication.

Job Requirements
Qualified to a HNC/HND or an equivalent qualification in a
mechanical Engineering field, or with demonstrated
knowledge / experience in fabrication methods such as
cutting, filing, adhesive bonding, painting etc.
Essential
Working to regulatory standards and quality procedures within
the aerospace industry, especially EASA and FAA Part 145
approval requirements.
Desirable
Good knowledge of CS 25, CS ETSO, 14CFR Part 25

Ability to communicate at all levels

Computer literate with MS Office Software (Word, Excel,
