About Our Client
Our client is the UK arm of a leading privately owned, European, vertically integrated energy utility covering the complete value chain ranging from highly efficient cogeneration, power and heat generation, natural gas transmission, gas storage, heat and electricity distribution and supply. There are circa 25,000 Group employees.
The UK's small function has rapidly grown through a number of strategic acquisitions and continues to grow to support a diverse and complex base of assets.
They are looking for a commercially astute and dynamic in-house regulatory lawyer to support in the growth of the team.
Job Description
Responsibilities include:
* Providing legal support across the business focusing on regulatory advice in relation to:
o development and construction projects in the UK and Ireland;
o acquisition of suitable assets / development opportunities;
o the operation and optimisation of fleet of assets.
* Advising on, reviewing and drafting regulatory documents, procedure, applications and agreements.
* Ensuring that projects and transactions comply with all relevant corporate and regulatory requirements.
* Reviewing or performing legal due diligence where required.
* Instructing and liaising with external legal counsel.
The Successful Applicant
A successful In-house Regulatory Lawyer should have:
* 6/7 years PQE
* Experience in advising on regulatory aspects of power and infrastructure projects in a commercial context.
* Good drafting, negotiating, communication and presentation skills.
* Experience in Energy & Natural Resources and Utilities sector
You will be expected to spend at least 3 days in office in Leeds per week and travel occasionally to Ireland.
