A day in the life of…
The role of Hotel Night Cleaner is to support the Night Duty Manager with duties inclusive of: security, operation of the hotel throughout the night,providing 24hour Food and Beverage service, assisting the bar service and fulfilling cleaning duties in line with hotel standards.
Our Hotel Night Cleaner role is being offered on a Annualised Hours Contract working an average 39 Hours per week which will be on a 4 on/3 off schedule.
Please note, this position will be offered as an Annualised Hours Contract. Annualised Hours is an alternative way of expressing a working contract in hours per year, rather than the conventional hours per week. It enables staff to receive a standard monthly salary based on average hours, no matter how many hours they work in any month. Team members can be rostered for additional hours during busy times and fewer hours during quieter periods.
The starting salary of £25,730 per annum is being offered which increases following a successful completion of 6 month probation, 30 days holiday pro-rata and a company pension scheme. You would be required to work 4-5 days per week on a rota basis including weekends.
Based in The View Hotel Eastbourne, you will be part of a team of passionate people who know that being the best doesn’t always mean working around the clock.
Key responsibilities:
Ensure you are aware of what business is in the hotel each evening via your hand over with the front office team before their departure.
Prepare basic food items on the 24-hour menu as trained by the Kitchen team to fulfil room service food & drink requirements.
Be able to fully operate the point-of-sale system and resolve problems as necessary.
Carry out regular security checks throughout the building during the night, acting upon any problems or concerns.
Learn the hotel computer software (Opera) to assist with late check-ins and early check out ‘s in & Night Audit
Cash and Credit Card Handling - Taking of monies for the payment of services
Handle all telephone calls politely and efficiently, ascertaining and accurately meeting the caller’s needs.
Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed and are cleaned to hotel standards, and that the hotel is ready for the next day’s business.
Clear Down any late Function Rooms assisting the Event Staff
Set up conferences for the following day’s events
Removal of all trays from public areas, bedroom corridors as necessary.
The preparation of Breakfast trays and service to the rooms when required.
Liaise with guests and residents in the hotel, dealing with any problems and resolving complaints in a courteous and professional manner.
