Senior Technical Manager - Mechanical
£75,000 + Package
A leading FM Organisation is looking to add an experienced Senior Technical Manager with a mechanical bias to oversee a number of on-site projects being carried out. Responsibilities will include:
1. Review and assess project designs for mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, compressors, and piping networks, to ensure compliance with technical standards and operational requirements.
2. Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and clients, to facilitate seamless project delivery.
3. Apply advanced knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and industry-specific procedures to support system design and problem-solving.
4. Lead by example in promoting best practices for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
5. Oversee the operational integrity and maintenance of mechanical infrastructure, including regular condition monitoring, efficiency optimization, and fault diagnostics.
6. Implement and manage safety systems, including mechanical-specific risk assessments, permit-to-work systems, and compliance with HSE regulations.
7. Ensure high-quality completion of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks on systems such as boilers, chillers, air handling units (AHUs), and other plant equipment.
8. Manage and coordinate subcontractor activities, ensuring mechanical PPM and corrective actions are completed accurately and in line with service agreements.
9. Monitor the performance and reliability of mechanical systems, utilizing data from sensors and BMS (Building Management Systems) to anticipate and address potential issues.
10. Strengthen customer and client relationships through technical expertise, detailed reporting, and proactive communication of mechanical system performance and improvements.
11. Act as the Authorized Person for mechanical systems, taking responsibility for isolations, testing, and certifications when required.
12. Display ownership and accountability in managing resources, motivating the team, and ensuring the timely availability of critical spares for mechanical repairs and upgrades.
