Attendance Officer
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join the team at a client secondary school based in Old Trafford. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in monitoring student attendance, implementing strategies to improve attendance rates, and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff to promote a culture of regular school attendance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and record student attendance daily, ensuring accurate data entry into the school’s management information system.
• Identify patterns of absenteeism and work with students and families to address barriers to attendance.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies for students with poor attendance records.
• Liaise with teaching staff to ensure they are aware of attendance issues within their classes.
• Conduct home visits when necessary to engage with families regarding attendance concerns.
• Prepare reports on attendance statistics for senior leadership and governing bodies.
• Organize and participate in meetings with parents, guardians, and external agencies as required.
• Promote the importance of regular school attendance through campaigns and initiatives within the school community.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in an educational setting or similar role is preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using computer systems for data management (experience with MIS software is an advantage).
• A commitment to safeguarding children and young people.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
