Are you a passionate Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager looking to elevate your career with a leading Build Environment Consultancy?
Our client, a global build environment consultancy, is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor/Cost Manager to join their team in Cambridge.
You will engage in various projects across the real estate sector such as residential, commercial, retail, healthcare sectors and more; this role will offer the opportunity to work both on pre and post contract stages. This role would be the perfect next step to develop your career!
You must demonstrate ambition and a desire to learn, as well as commercial knowledge and the capacity to finish tasks within agreed-upon deadlines.
Your core responsibilities will be:
1. Working as part of a team of Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers, reporting to the Technical Director and delivering cost consultancy to the client.
2. Ensuring that our clients meet their stated goals through close collaboration, proactive cost control, and the provision of contractual guidance.
3. Assisting in providing building cost advice at various RIBA stages, such as feasibility studies, cost plans, and pre-tender estimates.
4. Performing fund monitoring for suppliers.
5. Participating and/or chairing meetings with the client.
6. Monitoring communication and tracking of project status.
7. Providing guidance on contractors, specialists, procurement routes, cost, and program solutions.
8. Providing assistance on the suitability and contract document preparation.
9. Preparing management reports.
10. Tracking achievement milestones and deliveries.
11. Administering cost/variation procedures.
12. Completing all post-contract surveying duties, including determining the effect of deviations, settling accounts, and resolving disputes.
Qualifications:
* Relevant Bachelor’s degree (Surveying, RICS accredited course).
* Previous experience working in a consultancy environment.
* MRICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor or working towards.
