What is NATS?
NATS is the UK's leading Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP). In a typical year we handle 2.6 million flights and keep 250 million passengers safe whilst in UK airspace. We provide air traffic management services to 15 airports in the UK as well as providing these services around the world spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.

What will the Human Factors Graduate scheme involve?
This 2-year programme will be based at our Head Office in Whiteley (Hampshire) or in our Air Traffic Control Centre in Swanwick (Hampshire) however we have adopted 'agile working' which will enable you, where possible, to have the opportunity and flexibility to work in our modern office facilities as well as at home.
You will be with the Human Factors & Wellbeing team. Our purpose is to optimise Human Performance now and for the future. We do this by leading the development of tools and solutions that are tailored and benefits led.
You will gain experience in all key areas of Human Factors, working closely with other safety professionals and end-users to deliver and assure high quality Human Performance related outcomes and benefits.
During your scheme you will have the opportunity to experience the business from several different HF perspectives. You may be getting involved in the below areas for example:
1. HMI design and implementation
2. Human Factors assurance
3. Safety Assessments
4. Safety Culture, Wellbeing
5. Fatigue Risk Management
6. Human Factors integration
7. Training Development & Delivery
8. Human Error, Workload, SA assessment
9. Usability assessment
10. Physical ergonomics
What are we looking for?
We're looking for driven, proactive and committed individuals who will embrace the challenging targets that we've set ourselves over the next few years. One thing is clear to us; we can only achieve these targets through our people. You'll need to have a relevant degree in Human Factors / Ergonomics, Psychology, Bio-mechanics, Safety or similar and be graduating or have graduated within the last 2 years.
You'll also need to pass NATS pre-employment security clearance checks.
