The newly integrated Community Vaccination Service is looking for a team player and exceptions decommissioner to support the nursing team deliver the school age vaccinations and Covid vaccination to housebound patients and care homes.
Vaccinations are the safest and most effective way of protecting individuals and communities from vaccine preventable diseases. Working for the
Community Vaccination Service allows for you to work as part of a team supporting and promoting the importance of vaccines who are
passionate to protect this age group and offering support to the Integrated Vaccination Service across the Trust.
The CVS team is part of the Integrated Vaccination Service and provides all school age children in Dorset their immunisations as per the
UK Health Security Agency schedule, alongside this the service also provides Covid vaccines to the housebound and care home residents of
Dorset. You will be supporting a team of nurses ,administrators and HCSW on a ay to day basis, ensuring that exception reports are completed and rectified in a timely manner.
The role will be based at Kings Park Hospital in Bournemouth.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Matching patient to NHS records in order to complete registration for immunisation
Checking all local and national systems to find patient.
Liaising with parents/school/service users/care homes
Adding patients onto caseloads
Sending lists of new referrals to other departments
Making a referral to CHIS
Checking duplicate registration forms and actioning appropriate form
Adding vaccination details to patients record when automatic upload has failed for different reasons
Referring child onto caseloads and identifying why child has not matched their record
Amending local systems if patient has not matched due to name/gender/dob entered by parent incorrectly but has managed to register.
Amending Records for CHIS/SN as advised.
Phones/Emails /General enquires and consent forms.
