Job Overview: We are seeking a number of Forklift Engineering positions for key clients across the UK. As a Forklift Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and service of forklift trucks and other material handling equipment. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment. Key Responsibilities for a Forklift Engineer: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on forklifts and other material handling equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults to ensure the equipment is operating efficiently. Conduct safety inspections and testing of forklifts to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Install and replace parts, such as motors, gears, hydraulic systems, and batteries, as needed. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed. Provide technical support and training to operators on safe and effective use of forklifts. Respond to emergency breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and quick resolutions. Order parts and maintain inventory of spare parts to ensure quick access to necessary components. Follow company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Work closely with other team members and departments to ensure efficient fleet management. Qualifications: Experience as a Forklift Engineer/Technician/Mechanic is desirable, but experience in related roles such as Access, Plant or Agricultural equipment is also relative. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of forklifts (counterbalance, reach trucks, pallet trucks, etc.). Relevant certifications or qualifications in forklift maintenance (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Engineering or equivalent) are preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, etc.).
