To achieve this, we are continuing to evolve how Governance, Risk, and Controls operate within our business. We want to place effective risk management at the heart of what we do—providing value to our internal stakeholders and supporting our three lines of defence.
As the Head of Household Risk, you will lead the business’s Risk function and work with stakeholders across the group to create and execute a robust risk management strategy. You will provide strong oversight of both Household Claims and Core, embedding Group requirements and guidance into our business.

* Lead and develop an effective Risk function, supporting Claims, Pricing, Product & Underwriting, while fostering a positive risk aware culture.
* Ensure FCA compliance while balancing business needs and strategic ambitions through coordination with central Risk & Compliance functions.
* Manage and report on risk performance, addressing areas outside risk appetite and ensuring accurate management information and reporting.
* Develop methods to identify key risks that may impact our operation, and maintain a forward-looking and emerging risk assessment.
* Drive the root cause resolution of control failures and gaps, strengthening the risk and control environment, protecting customer and business outcomes.
* Attend key working groups and management committees, providing risk-related insights and challenges to stakeholders.
* Foster strong working relationships with Household leadership and Risk, Compliance and Governance stakeholders across the Group.
* Create and deliver reports that provide insights for use at all levels of the organisation.
* Develop a happy and talented team of Risk specialists, ensuring that the culture within the department reflects the four pillars of “Communication, Equality, Reward and Recognition and Fun”.

* Strong collaboration, conflict resolution, influencing and negotiation skills.
* Impactful presenting skills, with the capabilities and knowledge to drive the right customer and business outcomes.
* Proactive and actionable risk advice on inherent and emerging risks.
* Ability to build stakeholder relationships across all levels of the business.
