English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking an English Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a recent English graduate looking to gain classroom experience, particularly those considering a future career in teaching, tutoring, or educational support. The successful candidate will work closely with students to enhance their understanding of English language and literature, supporting them in achieving their academic potential. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one and small group support for students who require additional help with reading, writing, and comprehension. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering English lessons, ensuring all students are engaged and supported. Helping students develop literacy skills, essay-writing techniques, and analytical thinking. Supporting students with exam preparation, coursework, and revision strategies. Encouraging students to develop a passion for English language and literature. Assisting with behaviour management and promoting a positive classroom environment. Working closely with the English department and SENCO to provide targeted interventions for students who may need extra support. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help inform lesson planning and support strategies. Candidate Requirements: A degree in English Language, English Literature, or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred). A strong passion for English education and student development. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting students with different learning needs. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
