About the Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. You’ll play a key part in ensuring that all areas of the building are hygienic, organized, and well-maintained, contributing to a positive and comfortable atmosphere for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cleaning & Tidying: Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing, ensuring all areas of the care home are kept clean and presentable.
* Room Care: Clean and maintain residents’ rooms, making beds, changing linens, and ensuring rooms are organized and hygienic.
* Sanitization: Ensure that all high-touch areas (e.g., handrails, door handles, light switches) are sanitized regularly, following health and safety guidelines.
* Laundry: Manage the washing, drying, folding, and ironing of linens and residents’ clothing, ensuring cleanliness and proper handling of all laundry items.
* Waste Disposal: Ensure that waste is disposed of properly, including taking out rubbish and recycling in line with company procedures.
* Stock Management: Assist in maintaining stock levels of cleaning supplies and report any shortages to the Housekeeping Manager.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety standards and cleaning protocols, ensuring that cleaning products are stored safely and used according to instructions.
* Team Collaboration: Work alongside other housekeeping staff and the wider team to ensure smooth operation and a positive environment.
* Special Projects: Assist with additional cleaning tasks or projects as requested, including deep cleaning and seasonal maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
Qualifications & Experience:
* Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a care home, hotel, or healthcare setting.
* Good understanding of cleaning products, equipment, and health and safety procedures.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work efficiently and to a high standard.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude.
* Flexibility and willingness to assist with various cleaning tasks as needed.
* Knowledge of infection control and hygiene standards (training can be provided if necessary).
