Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils in a dynamic and supportive special school in Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional learning needs (ALN).
About the Role
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and staff to support primary-aged pupils with a range of needs. This role involves assisting with individual learning plans, managing challenging behaviours, and helping children achieve their full potential. You will also need to be comfortable providing personal care when required.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting primary-aged pupils with ALN in one-to-one or small group settings.
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism.
Assisting with personal care tasks as needed.
Collaborating with colleagues to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting children or individuals with additional learning needs.
Confidence in managing and supporting challenging behaviour.
A caring, proactive, and patient approach to working with children.
A willingness to carry out personal care responsibilities.
Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential).
